WebQuest – a technique to be used in the classroom.

 

What is a WebQuest?

It’s an inquiry-oriented lesson format in which most or all the information that learners interact comes from recourses of the web.

The advantages of using it:

• Make good use of the Internet

• Engage students in the kind of thinking required

A real WebQuest:

• Is wrapped around a doable and interesting task

• Required high level of thinking, not simply summarizing

• Includes synthesis, analysis, problem solving

• Makes good use of the web

• Isn’t just a series of web-based experiences

 

WebQuest is group activity, motivational within a single discipline or interdisciplinary based on 3TQR (tasks, resource and questions).

One of the reliable sites for this is www.onestopenglish.com

There you’ll find Web Quests about big cities of the English speaking world: London, Boston, New York.

You don't need any registration. More than that you can find extra materials through search engine for example Google.

To start something with you'd better choose the Quia activity. A WebQuest requires significant time to envision, design, collect resources for and produce.
