неверно использовано слово remained, надо исправить, это лексическая ошибка, даже не считая опечатки.

Cогласен можно и wrote.... хотя он постоянно писал там в течения всего путеществия...

Конечно опечатка. Я немного другое имел в виду. Вот значения слова remain:

verb (used without object)

1.

to continue in the same state; continue to be as specified: to remain at peace.

2.

to stay behind or in the same place: to remain at home; I'll remain here when you go to the airport.

3.

to be left after the removal, loss, destruction, etc., of all else: The front wall is all that remains of the fort.

4.

to be left to be done, told, shown, etc.: Only the dishwashing remains.

5.

to be reserved or in store.

 

Remain означает не столько "сохраниться" (это третье значение), а "остаться неизменным", а здесь по контексту, на мой взгляд, требуется именно "сохраниться", то есть survive. Сам по себе момент мелкий, просто вопрос лексической сочетаемости.

Да, при постоянности действия past continuous вполне допускается, но мне показалось, что в целом в тексте идет последовательность действий в прошлом, а для таких ситуаций больше характерно использование Past Simple. Частая повторяемость действий в прошлом - это чаще всего would: he would describe in his diary.

Перевод верный. Но после глагола есть еще и продолжение, то есть предложение не заканчивается словом remain. В примере со счетом подчеркивается именно неизменность состояния, а не то, что счет сохранился, не исчез с давних пор. Чаще пишут: the account remains active/dormant. Точно так же можно сказать: she remained beautiful even at the tender age of 80. Внимание на неизменности состояния.

Практически всегда говорим a couple of.... не заметил of....и конечно no в следующем предложении "There is no _ admiration, no _ tenderness and no _ fondness in their relationships." Хотя можно употреблять no всего один раз в начале . "There is no _ admiration, _ tenderness and _ fondness in their relationships.

Практически всегда говорим a couple of.... не заметил of....и конечно no в следующем предложении "There is no _ admiration, no _ tenderness and no _ fondness in their relationships." Хотя можно употреблять no всего один раз в начале . "There is no _ admiration, _ tenderness and _ fondness in their relationships.

Да, это просто глаз замыливается, так постоянно бывает, особенно когда нет времени как следует сосредоточиться. Можно сначала no сказать, но тогда перед tenderness лучше не and, а nor.
