Web Quest sample lesson.

 

 

The aim of this lesson is:

• To introduce unusual jobs

• To give cultural information about British Heritage

 

Warm-up

1. What do you know about the Tower of London?

2. How many ravens are there?

3. Who works with them?

4. What do they eat?

5. What are their names?

6. Who can serve as Yeoman Warder?

 

Send your students to the web-site http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news4098894.stm

Afterwards you can organize different activities:

 

Divide the class into groups and ask them to make presentations on the following topics:

 

• Tower Ravens

• Ravenmaster’s Day

• Raven’s menu

 

Organize discussion on the following quotation:” I am the king raven here, they look at me as part of them”

What are the relationship between the birds and the ravenmaster?

Do you know any unusual job?

Do the birds feel comfortable around humans?

 

The students can write a raven profile finding more about ravens.
