English Tongue Twisters

Saying and practising tongue twisters can be a lot of fun!

While they can be very difficult to say properly, because they focus on one or two particular English sounds, they are wonderful for helping you improve your pronunciation, especially if you need some extra help on one particular sound!

*Just Remember: these tongue twisters are NOT real English expressions; they are only a mix of words with similar beginning sounds that are meant to improve your pronunciation on that particular sound.

Here you can listen and repeat tongue twisters.

Lonely ladies lull over lost loves and light lunches.

Local lemmings yodel all the lovely lyrics.

Lamas cuddle along alluring lanes littered with lush tulips and lilies.

Many model merchant marines met Monday mornings.

Mellow and mild mammal animals meekly meander along the muddy meadow among mosquitoes and moths.

Roberta ran rings around the Roman ruins.

Ray ran across a rough road with his red rocks, wretched ratchet wrench, and rare rubber roller.

Seven slippery sailors sailed singing seafaring songs.

I saw Susie sitting in a shoe shine shop.

Where she sits she shines, and where she shines she sits.

I wish to wish the wish you wish to wish, but if you wish the wish the witch wishes, I won't wish the wish you wish to wish.

The Mother, the father, and the brother think that their thoughts are thoughtful and thorough.

The thirty-three thieves thought that they thrilled the throne throughout Thursday.
