Teacher taught the learners not the plan.There was a logical progression to the lesson andthe teacher clearly signposted the learnersthroughout.The coursebook was suitably adapted to thelearners’ needs/level.Teacher set the scene and engaged the learners’interest in the topic.New language was presented clearly andcorrectly.Learner errors/feedback were dealt with indifferent ways and at appropriate times.Interaction patterns were varied.Instructions were clear and checked.Teacher checked understanding of targetlanguage.Teacher monitored unobtrusively and gavesupport when needed.Teacher encouraged learner talk and controlledteacher talk.A variety of tasks/activities were used.
