This is an example with adjectives ended with –ly:

Adjectives Ending in –ly

Students are often confused by adjectives that end in -ly because they look like adverbs of manner. Below is a table listing some of the most common -ly adjectives.

Very High Frequency:

friendly

lovely

unlikely every day

pleasant; nice

will probably happen

wonderful; beautiful

probably won't happen; unpromising my daily schedule

It's likely to rain.

High Frequency:

weekly* dedicated to God

full of energy/spirit

unhappy from being alone

once a month

not serious or intelligent

Students are often confused by adjectives that end in -ly because they look like adverbs of manner.

 

I think they won't be confused if they remember one simple rule, i.e adjectives which have the ending - ly are formed from nouns and adverbs (ending in -ly) are usually formed from adjectives.Cheers!
